Our Rates

All prices include travel of up to 30 miles each way from the Sacramento city center.

Ovation Strings requires a one hour minimum performance contract which is sufficient for most weddings. For a Full Mass Wedding (Catholic ceremony) there is a 1-1/2 hour minimum.

String Quartet   1st hr - $600, 2nd hr - $400 - 3rd hr - $300

String Trio          1st hr - $500, 2nd hr - $300 - 3rd hr - $200

String Duo          1st hr - $400, 2nd hr - $200 - 3rd hr - $100

We are happy to provide service outside the greater Sacramento area. Please contact us for travel rates as they are determined according to distance and driving time.

Ensemble Options

String Quartet

A string quartet is the most popular choice for weddings and functions and we recommend this ensemble for most bookings. Consisting of two violins, viola and cello, the string quartet allows us to produce richer harmonies and more intricate parts for you and your guests to enjoy! This is particularly important in contemporary music as we can ensure that our arrangements stay true to the songs you know and love.

String Trio

A string trio is another great option and is made up of 2 violins (or viola) and cello. As the trio uses one less instrument than a string quartet, it works well for most classical and contemporary choices. It is also suitable for smaller, more intimate settings and is a budget-friendly option, or for those working with limited space.

String Duo

The string duo is a smaller ensemble again, consisting of violin and cello. This is a good option for more intimate settings with minimal guests. You may be limited in music choices, but contact us to discuss your requests. The duo works well for those looking to add a touch of live strings to their wedding or function while working with little space or budget.

Outdoor Events

Ovation Strings performs at outdoor venues frequently, although we do have restrictions on weather conditions in which we can perform. We require shade to protect our instruments, many of which are over 100 years old. We can provide a white tent canopy (10'x10') with optional sidewalls if the venue does not offer a shaded spot, for a fee of $50.00. We cannot perform in high winds or rain (fog drip or a drizzle can be a problem even if we are under umbrellas). To perform to our high standards and to protect our fingers and instruments, we also cannot perform in very cold or hot weather - generally if the conditions are uncomfortable for your guests, a high-quality performance may be challenging or impossible. Therefore, we strongly recommend thoroughly planning for an indoor alternative in case of temperatures below about 65 degrees or above about 95 degrees.
